MAY-SEPTEMBER 2016 | Smith begins teaching a community donation based "Yoga in the Park at Sunset Beach Town Park" each Saturday morning at 930am. The donations go directly to CMA to support both in school and after school programming
AUGUST, 2016 | ATMC awards Community Movement Alliance a grant of $1000 to purchase yoga mats for our programs
SEPTEMBER, 2016 | lululemon awards CMA with $1000 grant in order to purchase insurance for our programs
SEPTEMBER 10, 2016 | Movement Works hosts our area's first Carolina Soul Festival (www.carolinasoulfest.com) and donates the proceeds to Community Movement Alliance.
NOVEMBER, 2016 | The Neighbors of Sunset Beach publication writes an article about CMA.
DECEMBER, 2016 | Smith implements an in school yoga program at Lincoln Elementary in Leland
JANUARY, 2017 | An after school yoga program is implemented at Jessie Mae Monroe School. Smith volunteers her time also with the EC Children K-5.
FEBRUARY, 2017 | An after school TaiChi/Qigong program is implemented at Jessie Mae Monroe.
FEBRUARY 24, 2017 I Vino & Vinyasa held at Silver Coast Winery as our 2nd annual fundraiser.
MARCH, 2017 | Claire Liddle begins teaching a community donation based yoga class, after school at Jessie Mae Monroe to the teachers.
APRIL, 2017 I Two hundred kids participate at Lincoln Elementary in a yoga class as we celebrate National Kids Yoga Day!!
MAY, 2017 | Community donation based yoga begins at Sunset Beach Town Park. Class is held each Saturday thru September at 9am.

JUNE, 2017 | Community Movement Alliance joins the Brunswick County Chamber of Commerce. A ribbon cutting was held on Tuesday, June 6th at the Zen Garden at Movement Works in Calabash.
SEPTEMBER 2017 | Virginia Williamson Elementary partners with CMA in bringing yoga to the entire school population. Grades K-5 will be practicing yoga once weekly. Lincoln Elementary and Supply Elementary programming begins in September.
DECEMBER 2017 | WILMA Magazine based in New Hanover County, featured our director Nancy Smith in their December issue, highlighting all of the work CMA is doing in Brunswick County.
FEBRUARY 2018 | Mid month our programming returns to Virginia Williamson as we actively seek grants so that we can continue moving forward in more schools.
